When a piece of printed documentation might be the medium of choice in some instances, it may be wholly inappropriate in others. And, more likely, the adoption of a mix of two or more media is preferable.
It’s in those instances that PIERCE’s neutrality comes into play. We’re focussed on the message, not blinkered by the media. If email yields better results, so be it. If the target audience is shown to respond more favourably to advertising or PR, the choice is obvious. A printer can’t be so objective and a design agency’s recommendations can only be based on what they understand.
